Well honestly, I couldn’t really say I’m that surprised after reading all of the terms fo service and all of the different articles. Facebook, in particular, I’m really not surprised about, I’m just confused at to how they can get away with what they do. It is, however, very apparently my fault, because I do scroll to the bottom, past all of the information, and then hit agree. Every. Single. Time. The fact that Facebook is allow to take my identity and use it for their personal gain, feels like theft. Even though I am agreeing to it.

I always knew that the “FBI Agent in my phone” as we like to say, did listen to me. I have always been aware that my phone is saving my past online shopping searches and creating ads for those websites on other sites that I normally spend time on. But, I didn’t know that it goes so much deeper than that. The minds behind these social media platforms that we use so often, have created algorithms that track how long I stop on each picture as I scroll through Instagram. The types of pictures I like. The types of videos I want to watch. They have all of that data saved. Which is pretty freaky- but I guess it makes sense. Idk it feels weird to know that I will still hit accept. But I’m gonna.
